How To Get More Things Done In Lesser Time
One of the things that are common with smart entrepreneurs is that they are skilled at getting vital tasks done. Another more important skill I admire more about them is their ability to avoid unnecessary distractions and neglect unimportant works.
See? You need to prioritize. There is need for you to know what and what is more important to you. There are usually some urgent stuffs, which are really not important. Get the important things done first before anything else, even the urgent stuffs.
Write down your main goals all at once and stop daydreaming about them.
Do not forget. Your focus is NOW and HERE. Not on some date you have set in the future.
Take your time to put down all the tasks that will push you closer to your goals.
Be sure all the necessary tasks that are important towards reaching your goals are there on the list.
On a weekly basis, go through your lists and mark the tasks you have achieved. Also check for the next important task on the list, schedule them and give them work time, this will not allow you to waste your valuable time on unnecessary things.
According to Einstein, “a cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind”.
Getting organized is very important. An email inbox that is not properly managed would lead to procrastination, anxiety and more stress more than a fore-told tsunami.
Create time. Process your email inbox. Draft a schedule for the tasks in your routine. Make sure that one is out of the way. With this, you will have more space to attend to more vital works that are waiting for you. You know… the kinds that pay the bills.
Generally, humans are time-inconsistent. So, you can’t really trust your future self. You may decide to buy vegetables today with the thought of eating a healthy salad all through the weekend, and then you later find yourself throwing away the rotten remains without making use of the veggie at all.
I got myself a skipping rope, because I thought I would be making use of it every morning, I have only be able to use it thrice, after two years now. We all do something with something in mind, but then we just discover later that things did not go as planned.
So, how can you make sure your future-self does the intentions of your present-self? Anticipate how any of the self-sabotage elements might end up affecting you in the future and come up with a strategic solution to defeat it.
Know what your Most Important Task (MIT) is and work on it first thing each morning, by making sure there are absolutely no interruptions. That is what the ultra productive people do.
Normally, every serious entrepreneur should be able to work on something meaningful for at least 6-8 hours in a day. If you agree with me on that, then you need to keep down your head, work hard and stay disciplined.
The truth is, you can actually achieve more in less time.
If you manage to stay focused everyday and work for as little as 3 – 4 hours every day, you can achieve your next goal in the next six months.
If you are the type working towards creating a better tomorrow for yourself, then you will definitely face some of all of the 7 secret killers of personal productivity. If you do not deal with them, they will keep on eating upon your efforts to be productive, which might eventually kill your dream.
If these secret killers of your personal productivity are going to take your dreams from you, then they might as well kill you, right? I am sure you do not want that and won’t allow it.
Do not give in to procrastination or any other secret killers of your personal productivities.
All entrepreneurs went through these kinds of pushback when they started their businesses too. Understand your need to make sacrifices and take risks, since they are all for an ultimate benefit.
You have chosen to stop complaining like everyone else and working towards creating a better future for yourself and others.
So, make it happen.
Do not keep rolling over and over.
It’s time you got up and fight. Your future can be incredibly bright but you really have to use your TIME wisely now, in order to create a beautiful thing for your future.
Your TIME is your LIFE. Defend it like a warrior. It you do not do this; you will be missing lots of opportunities. They would just vanish front your sight into thin air.
So, get up now. Look at that adversity right in the face. Acknowledge it. Then wear a really mean grin on your cute face, and GET TO WORK.
It’s as simple as that.
